New Launch Screen Options in 5.2

I like many people am having trouble getting the launch screen to work the way I would like.

With 5.0 I provided a number of images and they were more or less stretched or squeezed to fit the size of the screen. This worked.

I've tried the "Image and Backgroud (relative size)" with Fill % at 100. Now my splash image is square with black borders. I would like the old 100% fit both horizontally as well as vertically. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
