Unity App Stops External Audio on Launch

We recently upgraded our app from Unity 5.6.5 to Unity 2018.3. We are now noticing that our app will stop any external audio when the app starts.

For example, if you are playing some music and start the game, the music fades out as the app launches. You can then switch over to the music app and resume music playback. But in previous Unity versions, it seemed that launching the app would not stop external audio.

Believe it or not, I’ve actually been researching this all day, and I’m surprised I haven’t found any info on how to do this, or an answer of if this is even possible what I’m trying to do.

I have an iPad Pro 2018 model, which doesn’t have the 3 camera thing in the back, it;s the model just prior to that.

but I want to create an app that can read my face, and make changes to the shape of my face.

We've been noticing this crash on some of our iOS builds off of 2018.3.8f1 and more recently 2018.4.0f1, not sure what exactly is causing this and we don't have any solid repro steps, but are wondering if anyone here has any guesses into what exactly is happening.

This stack trace shows the main thread crashing, but we have also seen this on other threads.

I have a problem with IOS authorization.

On Start app first call
Social.localUser.Authenticate((bool success) =>
{
Debug.Log("Success = " + success);
});

fork is fine. But if Hide application and logout gamecenter from phone settings and call Social.localUser.Authenticate -> callback not calling

We're seeing a somewhat reproducible exception in PrepareAudioTap (see screenshot attached) that only appears in iOS 14 it seems. We haven't been able to reproduce in iOS 13 and all of our crash reports are coming from iOS 14. Some details on our setup and the repro for us:
  • We run Unity using UaaL as we have our own native layer
  • It seems like using VideoPlayer and specifically preparing VideoPlayer might be related to the repro
  • We reproduce it by going into the scene and...

There is no certain way to reproduce this crash. I have to play for a while. Go back to main menu, play again and so on... Then sometimes when the gameplay scene is loaded (I can see objects of the scene), the game crashes. Xcode doesn't tell me much about my scripts - but I made development build.

Multipeer Connectivity had some changes in iOS 14. Apps are now required to list the reason they need local network discovery and also to declare the name of the multipeer services they are running in the Info.plist.

Hello,

I am using Unity 2019.4.27f1, running on Win10.
I build to IOS project on PC.
Then Move to Mac on Catalina/XCode 12 and use XCode to push to AppStore.

I have a project that builds fine on Unity 2018 all the way to app store.
When upgrading to Unity 2019, I am getting several Mach-O linker errors as show below.
These are all related to GameCenter, and I have confirmed that Game Center capability is added, and GameKit.Framework is also in the project.:

I'm using unity as a library in IOS and I've implemented a native plugin to allow Unity to communicate with the native iOS unity project. However, I'd like to have unity communicate with the native host project that is embedding the unity project as a library. Is that possible? if so

iOS Screen.safeArea incorrect in landscape - leaves space on the side for the swipe zone

In landscape, the safe area on iOS devices should allow space for the notch on one side and the swipe zone on the bottom. But Screen.safeArea is doing that AND extra space where the swipe zone would have been in portrait zone. So there is wasted space, and if the notch is on the right then it won't look good to have a big empty space on the left.

Is there a solution? A way to request a more accurate safe zone? The only solution I can think of is manually doing it, which isn't feasible for...

I'm trying to set up push notifications using the Mobile Notifications package and the device token the AuthorizationRequest returns is a string in the format of:

"token: {length = 32, bytes = 0x19c7c350 a739089f e55e1f66 1d5ee3ad ... 5511a9b6 83b3660a }"

I'm confused as there's missing bytes as shown by the "..." in the returned string. I'd assume it was just shortening it for readability in the logs but when uploaded to my server and stored in a database it is still displayed as...

I get no errors when building the project from xCode.

what happened to Apple TV input?

My app uses two of the buttons on the Siri Remote, which are mapped to resemble joystick buttons, in the legacy input system. This broke during a recent 2020 update. Suddenly the app no longer senses the buttons on the remote, although I can see the light on the Apple TV box blinking. The Unity documentation still says the same thing it always did about mapping to joystick button codes. Anyone know what's going on?

Crashes when you force close an iOS app with another view controller up?

We have an issue where if you force close the app while an Ad is up, the app crashes.
Using AdMob and it happens with any of the mediated Ads.

It generates tens of thousands of crashes for us in our logs (a player wouldn't notice that it's crashing though).
I can't anyone mentioning this when I google the issue! Is it just me? I am going crazy here.

AdMob have investigated and said its a unity issue, and happens even if you bring up a blank view controller.

Unity 2020.1.10 Architectures Grayed Out

I just upgraded to Unity 2020.1.10 from 2019.x LTS and looking at the Player Settings, I see 'Architectures' grayed out and set to ARM64.

Is this by design (32 bit removed), or have I forgotten to install something?

Don't we lose support for iPad 4 if we do this?

Hi, we're encountering a bunch of native crashes on iOS related to
UnityUseAnimatedAutorotation
when using 2019.4.9f1.

From what I can gather (based on the stacktrace below), the Trempoline is being cleaned-up on stack frame 31, and being accessed again on stack frame 0, which would probably lead to exceptions since I'd mostly a bad idea to access an object after it's cleaned-up.

Is anyone else having this issue, or is there a known solution/work-around for this?

we wanted to integrate the official Facebook Unity SDK into our app. However, if we want to "archive" the app now, we get this Bitcode-related error:
